Animal Welfare
Caring for Those Who Cannot Speak for Themselves
The Apple & Charlie Brown Martini Initiative
The Martini Foundation believes every animal deserves safety, dignity, and compassionate care. Through The Apple & Charlie Brown Martini Initiative — named in honor of Apple Martini and Charlie Brown Martini — the Foundation will support organizations dedicated to the protection, rescue, rehabilitation, and well-being of animals across the full spectrum of animal welfare.
The Foundation's support will span the breadth of animal welfare — from companion animal rescue and adoption to veterinary access, shelter infrastructure, service and working animal programs, equine welfare, and wildlife conservation. The Foundation will seek organizations with strong community roots, sound governance, and a clear theory of change.
The Foundation is particularly committed to addressing systemic gaps in animal welfare: the shortage of low-cost veterinary care in underserved communities, the capacity constraints facing rescue and rehabilitation organizations, and the role of humane education in shaping long-term cultural attitudes toward animals of all kinds.
“How a community treats its animals reflects something essential about its character.”
